Employee Spotlight: Amber Blaha, Laboratory Manager

As part of the Metallix Direct Gold company mission, we’re dedicated to establishing transparency with our customers. That’s why we provide you with the information — updated pricing on each metal, blog posts, white papers and more — you need to make an informed decision when selling your unwanted gold, silver or platinum group metals.

We’ve also introduced you to the members of our team who handle your precious metals and work with you throughout the sales process. Be sure to check out our “Who We Are & How It Works” video to learn about our sales process and meet our team.
Taking this a step further, we want to introduce you to the personal side of our company, and feature the team members who deal directly with our customers. Our hope is that you feel more connected to the company and those who make our daily operations possible.

Q&A with Amber Blaha:Metallix Direct Gold Employee Spotlight

1.  What are your roles/responsibilities at Metallix Direct Gold?

I am the Lab Manager at Metallix. My involvement in the material for Metallix Direct Gold consists of using lab techniques and instrumentation such as ICP and XRF to test the precious metal content.

    2. What is your favorite aspect of working at the company?

I like that we can experiment in the laboratory. If there are any methods or procedures that we would like to try, we have that capability to do so onsite. So, it’s always a learning experience in the lab, and we are always trying new things out to see what we can improve.

    3.  Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?

We have an eight-year-old male, pitbull mix named Sarge. He’s a humane society dog.

    4. List one fact about yourself that most people don’t know about you.

I am a certified SCUBA diver

    5. What is your favorite sports team?

    The Baltimore Ravens.

    6. What is your favorite holiday? Why?

Christmas. It’s the time for giving and letting people know just how much they mean to you. It’s not about the money you spend, it’s about the thought that goes into a gift, the more personal the better. The decorations, lights, music and love it just makes me so happy! I have a little girl, so I am very excited for Santa!

    7. If you could have a super power, what would it be? Why?

If I had a super power I would want to be able to fly.
